Odell Elliott Brown Jr. était un organiste américain de jazz. Il était surtout actif vers la fin des années 1960 et au début des années 1970, jouant du jazz Soul et du Jazz Funk et était souvent annoncé avec sa bande comme Odell Brown et the Organ-Izers La bande a été formée à Nashville en 1961. Son titre le plus populaire était Mellow Yellow de l'année 1967, qui est arrivé 173 sur 200. Le groupe se composait Brown O'Dell, orgue, Artee "Duke" Payne et Tommy Purvis, saxophone et Curtis Prince, batterie. Brown a co-écrit le titre de Marvin Gaye "Sexual Healing". Il joue du piano électrique avec Marvin Gaye vers la fin des années 70 et au début des années 80. Brown a aussi accompagné le chanteur Johnny Nash au cours des années 1970 et a arrangé et a accompli un album avec Minnie Riperton chez Epic Records.
